The Shia community in Singapore commemorate significant events in the Islamic calendar such as the birth and death anniversary of our beloved Prophet Muhammad s.a.w and his family.
Some may ask why do the Shias commemorate the birth and death anniversaries of the Holy Prophet and his progeny?
These events are observed by the followers of the Ahlul Bayt to honour their teachings, remember their sacrifices and enliven their spirits. In doing so, we learn to be better Muslims, better brothers and sisters and responsible citizens.
Apart from the usual sermon, nasyid and congratulatory messages given by members, we also conduct solemnization of marriages during the wiladah majalises.
Apart from the majalises, the following are also conducted:
- Recitation of dua tawassul and dua kumayl every week
- Friday prayers
- Eid prayers
- Annual forum to commemorate the death anniversary of the late Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini
Our majalises were also graced by foreign speakers like Syeikh Maitham from Bahrain, Maulana Reza Pasha from Bangalore, India and Maulana Syed Zaki Baqri from Canada.
